Question:

We recently purchased EV012 EBV Infected cell Extract. As the product instruction, this product shall be stored at -70 centigrade. However, our store condtion cannot meet this requirement and the purchased products are stored at -20 centigrade. After the product thawed, it is found that there are some flocs in the bottom of the container. When adding 0.05mol/l CB buffer, these flocs cannot be dissolved.

Could you please tell us what are those flocs?

Resolution:

Sonication is recommended to resolubilize antigen precipitates. Just place the probe directly into the container, cover the opening with a paper towel and sonicate at 30% power (450W unit) for approximately 30 seconds using a 50% pulse.

A small amount of precipitate is normal but extended -20 storage will allow more to form.
