I am a pathologist and am trying to stain tissue sections for this antibody. What can I use as a positive control?
Resolution:
The method of fixation is the primary roadblock in histological use of monoclonal antibodies. If possible, use a cold acetone fixation (rather that paraformaldehyde) with a known EBV positive sample.
If this is not possible, use the induceable B95-8 or P3HR1 cell line on a teflon masked microscope slide (acetone fixed) and detect your gp110 antibody with a fluorescent anti-mouse IgG.
You can purchase these immunofluorescence slides with the cells already on them at our website. These are the same slides that we use to QC the antibody for release.
