I would like to order EBV infected Cell Extract (EV012-1) but also need an uninfected lysate control. Is this available? And what is the catalog number?
Resolution:
EBV (P3HR1) is induced from a chronically infected human B-cell lymphoma. Unfortunately, there is no known B-cell line that is EBV genome negative. In the past, we have done quasi-controls by using the P3HR1 cell line uninduced versus induced. There is a substantial difference between the two but it will never be a truly positive/negative system. Another alternative would be to use the Raji or BJAB cell line. They are each EBNA positive but do not produce virus.
