High concentrations of IgG antibodies can obscure or eliminate a positive IgM reaction when both species of antibodies are directed against the same viral target. This sample diluent is a carefully blended preparation of anti-human IgG (Fc) antibodies in a reaction accelerating diluent. IgG antibodies in the sample are immunoprecipitated to allow the IgM antibodies unrestricted access to the antigen.
